@NdinguSibabalwe @SizweDhlomo I have solar and battery as my primary source of electricity and i only use Ekurhuleni power to recharge my batteries on consecutive cloudy days. However I have to pay a monthly connection fee regardless if i recharge from the grid or not.

@Am_Blujay If you can afford it, buy a gas geyser. Electricity for R1000 for a family of 4 now lasts around 7 weeks, because we dont use electricity for hot water, except for making tea and coffee. Where before it only lasted around 3 weeks.
