5 WARNING SIGNS OF FIBRIOD Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that form in or around the uterus. A lot of women have them and never realise it. But when symptoms do show up, they’re often hard to ignore 1. Heavy or prolonged periods If your periods suddenly become heavier than usual, stretch beyond a week, or come with large clots, it may be more than just a “bad cycle.” Over time, this kind of blood loss can even lead to anemia. 2. Pelvic discomfort or pressure A constant feeling of heaviness or pressure in the lower abdomen isn’t something to brush aside. As fibroids grow, they can press against nearby organs, making that discomfort more noticeable. 3. Needing to urinate often: When fibroids push against the bladder, you might find yourself going to the bathroom more frequently—even when you haven’t had much to drink. 4. Pain during sex Sex shouldn’t be painful. If it starts to feel uncomfortable or painful, especially in certain positions, fibroids could be part of the reason. 5. Abdominal swelling Some women notice their lower belly getting bigger over time. It can easily be mistaken for weight gain or even pregnancy, but fibroids may be behind it. HOW TO PREVENT IT You can’t always prevent fibroids, but your daily habits can make a difference. 1.Keep a healthy weight: Extra body fat can raise estrogen levels, and that may encourage fibroid growth. 2.Eat more whole foods; A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins supports hormone balance. Try to cut back on highly processed foods and too much red meat. 3.Stay active: Regular movement doesn’t just keep you fit—it also helps regulate hormones and supports overall reproductive health. 4.Manage stress Ongoing stress can throw your hormones off balance. Prioritise rest, get good sleep, and build in time to unwind. 5.Don’t skip check-ups: Routine pelvic exams can pick up fibroids early, sometimes before they start causing real problems. If you’ve noticed any of these changes, don’t ignore them. Seeing a doctor early makes a big difference. Fibroids are common, and with the right care, they can be managed before they begin to affect your daily life. If you have any question , dm. FOLLOW FOR MORE HEALTH TIPS
