Dear Holy Father, With all due respect, Christians in the Middle East are dying primarily at the hands of Islamist terrorists: Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic State. They are using civilians as human shields, murdering, raping, and burning in the name of Allah. Israel is fighting for survival – the only democracy in the region that also protects Christians (unlike the Palestinian "autonomy" or Lebanon under Hezbollah's control). The call for an "immediate ceasefire" in practice means: give Hamas time to regroup, launch more rockets, and carry out massacres on October 7th. Peace will come when the terrorists surrender their weapons and stop dreaming of annihilating the Jews. Perhaps instead of making equivalent appeals, it would be better to first loudly condemn those who are actually murdering Christians in the Middle East?
