They have invested approx $16 billion on high-speed rail extension, airport capacity expansion, port & maritime upgrades, road networks and building stadiums. Which have indirectly been motivated by the AFCON but dedicated to the World Cup in 2030 as well as tourism. But the specific investment for AFCON was approx $2.5 - $3 billion. Which is still nearly Cape Verde's entire GDP. Would be sick to see Cape Verde host a World Cup, but it's just undoable
