"Quantum-resistant cryptography" — what does that actually mean? Bitcoin's current security rests on a mathematical problem that classical computers can't solve in a useful timeframe. Quantum computers, in theory, can. Quantum-resistant cryptography swaps that problem for one that remains hard for quantum machines. The networks have already begun to move in this direction. One finding from the 21shares quantum report that hasn't got enough attention: Every bitcoin transaction has a ~10 minute window between broadcast and confirmation where the sender's public key is visible to the entire network. The question to ask your custodian isn't just "do you have a post-quantum plan?" It's: "does your plan cover the settlement window, not just signature scheme upgrades?" Most don't address it yet.
