The South African basic food retail market is NOT just spaza shops. EFF keeps on harping about "useless spaza shops" yet groups who compete spaza like Shoprite are venturing into banking which can be provided by spaza shops on a digital platform. EFF has a tendency of running apartheid ideology that there's some "Black Industries" and "White Industries" which the Natives must fight for. Well, Thabo who sells bread baked in the townships and distributes it through spaza shops is a direct competitor against Premier Foods and Shoprite Group with inhouse bakeries

If you believe in building strong and sustainable institutions, don’t underestimate the value of researchers who are obsessed with credible data and evidence. Research is not Google searches, AI summaries, opinion pieces or repeating claims because they sound convincing. When leadership asks for research, it is a privilege and a responsibility that must be approached with patience, humility and seriousness. Imagine making a major claim about the economy based on an opinion article that cites a report, only to discover that the report itself relies on another opinion article in the Business Day (@BDliveSA) rather than official data. That is how weak evidence gets recycled until it starts sounding like fact. It is also how organisations and leaders end up being misled. I encourage all researchers to familiarise themselves with the work of Statistics South Africa (@StatsSA). Their officials are always professional, helpful and willing to assist those who genuinely want to understand the data. There is a reason we invite Stats SA to @EFFSouthAfrica Plenums every year. Where do I even begin to explain how this is statistically bankrupt?

@lEsethuHasane Who in their normal mind trusts the Nigerian government? Anyway, no sympathy for Nigerians. They willingly elected a drug lord on religious and ethnic grounds instead of electing Obi. They deserve all the suffering.

@T3chFalcon Normal printers do not do this lmao. The kind of printers expensive enough to print real looking money do. Your $20 HP piece of shit printer can barely print normally, let alone secret fed markings

oh YES. Since the 1980s, Xerox and Canon made a secret deal with the US Secret Service. every color laser printer now embeds invisible yellow dots on every single page it produces. too small to see with the naked eye. they repeat up to 150 times per page so they survive cropping, damage, even shredding. the dots encode: — your printer's serial number — the exact date and time of printing — the manufacturer no law requires manufacturers to tell you this. most printer manuals don't mention it. you almost certainly didn't know. The first use case was counterfeiting. catching people printing fake money. reasonable. Then, in 2017, Reality Winner printed a classified NSA document and mailed it to journalists. investigators cross-referenced the yellow dots with security footage. she was identified, arrested, and sentenced to 5 years. because there is no law regulating who can request this information. no warrant requirement. no oversight. the EFF has been saying this since 2004 and nothing has changed. you can check if your printer does this. the EFF maintains a list: eff.org/pages/list-pri…

@KMutisi @paultungwarara The two distinct Zanu Pf camps have come to the fore. Mnangagwa is now just a figurehead. The two rich funders are fighting for influence. Mutisi who grovelled for R100 000 from that convict is turning down $10 000?

Thank you Dr @paultungwarara for the offer, it’s so kind of you… I am very happy that some of my good comrades will get this money, it will make a difference. For me, it’s more about recognising that they played a positive role. Of course you are free to do whatever you want with your money, but rewarding the attacker more than the defenders surely doesn’t look good. In fact, there is no rationale for rewarding someone for leaking private conversations & spreading falsehoods. ZANU PF shouldn’t be blackmailed by anyone, we all have to agree & disagree without turning crudely toxic. For me, Rutendo crossed the line, the worst we can do with him is let him be… I totally disagree with the notion of giving in to blackmail/extortion, it should NEVER be encouraged in any rational society. I respectfully decline this offer. Once again, thank you for sharing your wealth with fellow Zimbabweans, it’s very kind of you.
Dr P Tungwarara, Presidential Advisor@paultungwarara

I wish to reward these Comrades who fought by all means to protect the President, by providing them with a token of appreciation of USD$10k per person. During the period when Matinyarare was attacking the President, these individuals did everything within their power to defend him and the First Family. Furthermore, I will instruct my microfinance institution to offer them low-cost loans to help kickstart their small businesses. Congratulations to you all. Stay blessed, and continue to protect the President and the image of our country. Someone must whisper gently in his ear of the chap that whilst mining contributes 5.9% to the GDP the spazashop economy contributed 5,2%. Whilst mining employs less than 500 000 the spazashop economy employs 2.6 millions! Gently educate the chap. I thank you chair!
