Indigenous People of Plateau. Vol 1: Who are the Mwaghavul people? AKA Sura. They have lived on the Jos Plateau long before any emirate drew a map. Their horses, their gods, their blood, and their crosses tell a story. Let’s talk about them. A thread🧵…

“Sheik Gumi is not a fuul, he knows what he’s saying, he once said the only way to get r!d of the band!ts is either you kp@! them or you beg them. Whenever he goes to beg the terrorist, he goes with police, soldiers and civil defense escorts.

If we can’t support the SUG president physically or financially, the best we can do is tell others to do so and encourage them with words. But the hateful statements towards them are rather insensitive. Remember they are just students who face more challenges to assist others.

I personally know what Younglan’s eyes have seen. I honestly will not sit mute and watch anyone belittle his efforts. He is in debt because of this crises. Let’s be supportive please. 🙏🏽

From my DM a UNIJOS student said: “Despite the announcement of the 13th as the resumption date, there is a deeper reality many people are ignoring. The SUG executives have been tirelessly working day and night to support students who are still on campus, yet they have received no financial support whatsoever from the school management since this crisis began. It is even more painful knowing that government funds are meant to ensure student welfare in situations like this, yet the burden has been left almost entirely on the shoulders of the SUG. The SUG President, in particular, has gone as far as using his personal resources—moving from hostel to hostel, checking on students’ safety, visiting injured students in hospitals, and even helping to track missing or deceased students, often using okada and keke just to get around. Beyond that, the SUG team is also supporting security personnel on campus, many of whom are unfamiliar with the environment, ensuring their basic needs are met. This level of sacrifice and commitment is something that deserves recognition, not criticism. It was therefore very disappointing to see people publicly attacking the SUG President, especially when he and his team are doing so much under such difficult conditions. Meanwhile, the same cannot be said for the school management, who appear distant and unresponsive at a time when leadership and support are most needed.”

This guy was the most dangerous out of all of them. He pointed a gun at me and kept threatening me like my life meant nothing. He’s the same one that hit me with the gun, shocked my body, beat me, and even slapped me from behind when I didn’t see it coming. Out of everyone there, he was the most aggressive. The most dangerous. He needs to be stopped!!! He is evil!!! @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU
