Notice how differently Westerners and Palestinians talk about “genocide” and “occupation.” Westerners say the “genocide” began with this Gaza war. Palestinians say the “genocide” began with Israel’s founding in 1948. Westerners say the “occupation” began in 1967. Palestinians say the “occupation” began in 1948. When Palestinians use these terms, they mean one and the same thing: Israel is uniquely evil and has no right to exist anywhere in the Land. Westerners should stop “explaining” this away and actually listen to what Palestinians have been openly saying for decades.
