Al Ansari addresses the violence of the Syrian war and her memories of trauma. She created various art series; on coffins & corpses; performances & installations of the bombings; and a mixed media works that ironically decorate the executioner-style masks worn by ISIS men.

In 2017, she received a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She has exhibited her work widely in the SWANA region and Europe with solo and group exhibitions, and has been awarded grants for her work. #WomenHistoryMonth

Today’s artist: Hiba Al Ansari, a multidisciplinary artist. Born in Bani Walid, Libya, Hiba Al Ansari (1983) attended the Walid Ezzat Institute and Adham Ismail Center for Fine Arts and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. #WHM #Syria #Art

تُعتَبر الأنصاري فنانة متعددة التخصصات، وتعالِج في أعمالها عنف #الحرب السورية وذكريات ما تعرّضت له من صدمات. قدّمت أعمال عن النعوش والجثث، بالإضافة إلى عروض أدائية وأعمال تجهيزية عن الانفجارات، وأخرى تهزأ فيها من أقنعة الجلادين التي يرتديها مقاتلو داعش، فزيّنتها بخامات مختلفة.

وُلدت الأنصاري في مدينة بني وليد الليبية عام 1983، ودرست في معهد وليد عزّت ومركز أدهم إسماعيل للفنون التشكيلية، وتخرّجت من كلية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة دمشق. نالت عام 2017 درجة الماجستير من أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في ميونخ. قدَّمت أعمالها على نطاق واسع ضمن معارض جماعية وفردية.
