Das Jammern über die Beschränkung der Reisefreiheit ab 3 Monaten, wird nur noch über die Dummheit der stillen Akzeptanz der Wehrpflicht übertroffen. Dann wird bemerkt, das vor 2011 es "nur" für Wehrpflichtige galt, während es nun für das Alter von 18-45 Jahren gilt, als wenn das nicht das Alter der Wehrpflicht umfasst

Vannkraftoppgradering til tre kroner per kilowattimen. Hvorfor vil Statkraft bruke 6 milliarder kroner på dette? Her er logikken. Nye Aura II vil etter oppgraderingen få en totalt installert effekt på 804 MW og en årsproduksjon på 2124 GWh. Effekten økes med 164 prosent, mens nytt energibidrag øker med kun 7 prosent. Det gir mulighet for såkalt effektkjøring, altså hardere kjøring av vannkraftverket. Da kan det produseres enda mer strøm når strømmen er dyr. Antall produksjonstimer vil reduseres fra 6536 til 2642 timer per år. For å gå i pluss må de altså selge strømmen til minst 30 øre/kWh mer enn det de tidligere oppnådde i snitt — men i langt færre timer. Klarer de å tømme magasinet raskere, er det gode muligheter for at dette er tilfelle. Men det er et stort men. Det avhenger av prisvolatilitet. Kommer det for mye stabil produksjon inn i systemet, kan det knekke volatiliteten og ødelegge hele forretningsmodellen. Før var Aura kjent som et av landets beste laksevassdrag. I dag er tilstanden for laksen dårlig, og vannkrafta er hovedårsaken. Med oppgraderingen vil tømmingen av magasinene kunne skje raskere enn noen gang tidligere. @OleAndreHagen

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said on Sunday afternoon that Lebanon was awaiting "Israeli approval" before fixing a water pipe damaged by Israeli attacks in the south: "There is a broken pipe that supplies water to Marjayoun and Qlayaa. The army chief has been communicating with the Ceasefire Mechanism Committee for the past 4 days, and we communicated with the Lebanese Red Cross and the International Red Cross yesterday, and they are ready to repair the pipe, but unfortunately the approval from Israel has not yet come."

Publicly, European leaders describe their support for Ukraine in moral and ideological terms, pitting democracy against authoritarianism. In some of my closed-door conversations with Europeans, a harder logic is increasingly dominant: It’s about buying time for themselves. It encourages European governments to judge Ukraine by its willingness and ability to keep fighting to the exclusion of any criticism of the quality of the Ukrainian state. So long as the front holds, almost everything else becomes easier to rationalize: coercive mobilization, executive overreach, suspended accountability, corruption that remains endemic, incompetence and political dysfunction in Kyiv. A country can survive militarily while decaying politically. Europe may not end up with the inspiring postwar democracy it imagines. It could instead inherit a heavily armed, deeply traumatized, politically brittle country on its border—one that is anti-Russian, but not liberal, well-governed or easy to integrate. Ultimately, the risk is that prolonged war and indulgent external backing produce a state whose pathologies are dangerous in and of themselves.
