In the ranked section these days, I dont enjoy playing a lot of the “quality mapper maps” but I feel even more miserable when I find a map meant to “combat” these “quality” maps, only for it to be a recycled aimslop style or browiec style map

if you search ranked=2025 and sort by plays, no one plays the game. if BNs are aware of “content bloat” ruining the player experience, they should be more aware of the real player drought instead. if there’s no incentives for players to play the so-called “quality” maps they won’t play it so what’s the point

@RentiaSquared not disagreeing with your take, just saying its a poor comparison. stockfish is meant to be played against or observed. its like a toy, it doesnt take away the role of players. ai mapping fills the purpose players need from mappers, its like a replacement.

in rocket league bots trained against each other for millions of hours and became impossible for anyone to beat, the same thing could happen with osu mapping and ai trial and error

@THAT_otaku_osu @AranelOsu osu mapping is not like most forms of art though, it is very grounded. it would be more appropriate to compare it to stuff like calligraphy, pixel art, or graffiti. it is very simple and limited. given time ai might be able to replace it.

I wouldnt worry too much, same as other art forms human creativity will always be unbeatable.
It is very unfortunate but its out there now, nothing we can do as mappers but lock tf.
But you have a very unique style anyways so dw lol
