Balmorhea SP will close Sept. 3, 2019 for a major project to replace the septic system. This project includes the replacement of the existing septic system, as well as the service lines connecting the facilities to the new septic field, and will run through Spring 2020.

5/23/19 Thanks to the quick work of our excellent contractors, the pool gate has been repaired and the Balmorhea State Park pool will reopen for normal hours, starting today.

5/20/19 We are happy to announce that the contractors have made good progress on the pool gate repairs at Balmorhea State Park and we will be able to reopen the pool this Saturday, 5/25.

5/8/19 Pool closure update: TPWD is coordinating installation of a metal plate over the water release gate. This would ensure the safety of swimmers and divers and enable the reopening of the pool. We do not know how long this will take, but we will post updates as we learn more.

Balmorhea State Park. 5/3/19. In preparation for the annual pool cleaning, the gate that drains the pool became inoperable in the open position. Due to the danger this poses to swimmers and divers, the pool must be closed until the gate is repaired.

Greetings Friends, Please note that we have sold all passes for the 8 am to 3 pm entry and the park will be closed until 3 pm. If you would like to purchase advance tickets to ensure entry at 3 pm, you may do so at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com.

The Balmorhea State Park pool has reopened. The pool bathrooms are also open, but the bathhouse showers will not be available until further notice. The campground and San Solomon Courts are still under renovation.

Due to structural failure found during the annual pool cleaning and concern for the safety of park visitors, the Balmorhea State Park pool will be closed until further notice, pending repairs.

Balmorhea State Park will be closed for our annual pool cleaning, from May 6th through the 13th. Our sparkling clean pool will re-open for swimming on May 14, 2018.
