A mum posted in a PT FB grp last wk seeking advice. Her son finished Cert IV & is signing a gym contract at $350/wk rent, running his own ABN. Responses were solid: exp trainers advised employed roles first, low-rent opts, & not rushing contracts w/o client base. Yet zero replies mentioned speaking to an accountant, GST thresholds, PAYG instalments, or the risk of a big 1st tax bill + quarterly instalment hitting same month if nothing set aside after a good yr. That gap btwn finishing a fitness qual & understanding how an ABN works is where many new sole traders get hurt—not just PTs, but tradies, freelancers & allied health too. Pattern is identical. I started as a CPA in public practice w/ sole traders (physios, PTs, small practices), then spent 25yrs building acctg & SMSF software for Aus biz. This gap never closes. So I wrote the 5 common acctg traps for new sole traders in fitness & how to avoid them. Incl Xero/MYOB/Sole/Rounded comparison for bookkeeping setup. If you have an Australian PT, fitness sole trader or allied health clients starting on ABN, feel free to share. Curious if other accountants see this pattern early or only after it becomes a real issue. Link in 1st comment.

Lifting heavy weights is proven to work better against depression than any medication And personally I know why I just lifted extremely heavy (for my standards), today was squats and deadlifts (with personal trainer) It's now an hour after and I am mostly unable to think, I am in a state of zen trance silence, there is literally nothing in my brain left Just an empty space and these words flying through If I stop writing this it's just silence and nothignness If I was depressed which I'm not, I wouldn't be able to be depressed right now, because I'm not able to be nothing right now, I barely exist, I just am and that's it It's hard to explain until you do like really heavy (again for my standards) like above 100kg/200lbs and many reps and you don't get the effect below your bodyweight in my experience Which makes it hard to explain this to people starting out lifting because it takes a long time to build up to heavy weight safely and then you really see the mental benefits It's probably similar to runner's high but different? Lifter's high? Anyway go try it!

I recorded myself lifting weights. I fed the video into Gemini 1.5 Pro and asked it to write JSON for each exercise’s name, set count, rep count, weight, and to generate form critiques. Worked perfectly. Hook it up to a camera + TTS and you have an AI personal trainer. Wild.

💯 Agree, makes sense. I've been a PM for over a decade and spent YEARS fumbling through creating garbage code like a drunk toddler, but about five months ago I discovered Claude Code and realised: instant superpower. Interestingly, it’s the massive shortening of the communication delay loop—from client to BA to devs to testers to devs and finally to customers—that makes this a superpower.

Naval just told 3M+ people that PMs who can vibe code are the new power players in tech, and most of them don’t realize that’s what he said. “Vibe coding is the new product management” means the person who understands the user problem, frames the right prompt, and evaluates whether the output actually solves it just became the highest-leverage role on every team. 78% of dev teams already use AI-assisted coding. Carnegie Mellon replaced wireframe assignments with vibe-coded prototypes this year. Collins Dictionary named “vibe coding” its 2025 Word of the Year. The entire stack compressed in 12 months. And PMs were built for this compression. One PM at Observe built Salesforce-to-Notion automations with Claude Code that saved his team hours per week. His biggest lesson: AI needs management like a junior employee with zero context. Clear goals, explicit expectations, accountability for outputs. That’s a product manager’s entire job description. The best PMs are already becoming what some companies call “Full-Stack Product Leads” who own everything from user insight to working prototype. The best engineers are becoming “product engineers” who own features end-to-end. Both roles are converging on the same skillset: product judgment plus the ability to ship. A METR study found apps built purely through vibes were 40% more likely to have critical security flaws. The industry calls it the “Vibe Coding Hangover.” Functional zombie apps everywhere, built by people who could prompt but couldn’t evaluate. The gap between someone who can vibe code and someone who can vibe code with product judgment is the gap between a demo and a business. Naval is right. Vibe coding is the new product management. And that means product managers who learn to vibe code own the next decade.

Just had one of those moments with FSD v14.1.7 where you realize it sees more + quicker than you can. Was wondering why it wasn’t accelerating after a green light right away and there was a cyclist it predicted would cut right in front of me. 👀 in back of its 🧠

Funny how @60Mins also failed to mention Missy Cummings has some serious conflicts of interest: She was on the board of Veoneer, a LIDAR company that's a direct rival to Tesla's camera-based tech, and she earned about $400k a year in stock from them. Her anti-Tesla stance also led to a petition with over 35k signatures calling for NHTSA to investigate her bias, which ultimately forced her to exclude herself from Tesla-related matters in 2022. #TeslaSafety @TeslaAUNZ

LEGACY MEDIA AT ITS WORST!!! If you watched the Australian 60 Minutes hit piece on Tesla’s FSD Supervised system which aired a few minutes ago, did you notice they didn’t make mention of a single statistic? There were literally zero figures mentioned in the whole report. Do you know why? It’s because they’re using a well tried and proven formula to discredit any new technology. Notice, they didn’t compare AP or FSD Supervised to another driver assistance system and they certainly didn’t compare it to human drivers, they ignored the status quo and just highlighted accidents with all the emotive imagery. They stripped away any context and let fear fill the gaps. No numbers, no data—just a carefully crafted story designed to maximise the FUD. This technique can make anything appear horrifically unsafe. For example, you could focus on rare cases where seatbelts or airbags caused fatalities, using vivid details to provoke fear. But that wouldn’t mean we should eliminate seatbelts or airbags because data shows that for every seatbelt-related death, 5,000 lives are saved, and for every airbag fatality, 200 people are unharmed. Context is essential, yet 60 Minutes omitted it entirely. If they were to provide context they would tell you that the latest stats show that the average car has an accident every 702,000 miles. A Tesla driven manually by a human averages 963,000 miles between accidents. With Autopilot engaged, that number jumps to 6.69 million miles—nearly 10 times safer than the average car! If this was honest journalism they would tell you that globally there are 3,000 car deaths every DAY, or 1.19 million every year and human error accounts for 90% of all car accidents. So, effectively, 60 Minutes could do 3,000 stories like this every day based on human driver error alone. It’s just like when there is a Tesla on fire it makes global news but the context they leave out is that there were 20 other car fires that day, 140 that week and 7,500 that same year! These internal COMBUSTION engine incidents rarely get attention because they don’t fit the story. You may ask yourself, why would 60 Minutes mislead people like this? It’s simple, sensational stories attract viewers, which drives advertising revenue. As the old adage goes, if it bleeds it leads. Also, Tesla has famously sold 5 million cars without spending a cent on advertising and almost 9 million now with still no traditional TV ads. The Model Y is globally the best selling car of any fuel type or car type 2 years running and Tesla is not replacing the advertising drop from legacy automakers which have one of the biggest advertising budgets of any sector. IMO, this is evil journalism because there is no doubt this story will influence many people not to buy a Tesla and not to use its life saving tech. Therefore, in effect, this 60 Minutes story will cost lives! If you still rely on legacy media to stay informed maybe it’s time to rethink that decision.

When I got the early access to FSD Supervised (RHD edition), I was initially going to post both the +ve as well as the -ve footage but realised that Tesla haters & some in MSM would use it to do what they usually do. FSD-S has not been released to the public as yet & already🙄👇

Thanks for the tips , I hit the indicator on my first Oz FSD drive yesterday and wasn’t sure if it was coincidence when my Model Y swiftly changed lanes as was getting close to an intersection . I also noticed it hesitated somewhat turning into streets with cars parked on both sides of the road.

Congratulations to all the new FSD subscribers in 🇦🇺🇳🇿, great to have you with us! You're going to love FSD supervised. FSD + an attentive human supervisor is safer than any human on their own. Just remember, if the car does something unexpected or uncomfortable that you don't like, take over immediately and report the event using the voice button. Don't be that guy who "waits and sees what the car will do" *cough*Bearded Tesla*cough*. We really don't need to see your car on 60 minutes or 7 news. A few tips based on my experience: - If the car doesn't get into the correct lane early enough, just tap the indicator. Don't leave it too late. - if you tap the indicator and the car doesn't want to move, just hold it down to force it. - if the car is at an intersection and it starts being jerky with the accelerator or brake, it's undecided whether it wants to go or not and you may need to be ready to press the brake or mash the accellorator. - don't be afraid to push the accelerator if the car is accelerating too slowly or driving under the speed limit. (known as Pedal of Encouragement in the community) Enjoy!

Day 1 with Tesla’s FSD subscription in Australia🚗Huge thanks to @TeslaAUNZ for actually pushing road safety forward. Let’s face it , distracted, impatient, tailgating, and impaired drivers are everywhere. FSD isn’t perfect, YET but neither are most Aussies behind the wheel. Grateful for tech paving safer roads ahead! Despite decades of government efforts, our road toll hit a 12-year high of 1,300 deaths in 2024 it’s climbing, not dropping. So why not take a step back and give FSD a try before you hate on Tesla or get click bated by @9NewsAUS @60Mins 🕕hit pieces that regurgitate old footage #Tesla #FSD #RoadSafety
