Two of those clubs only turned a profit by selling one of their assets to another company in the larger ownership group. In short, a paper profit. Newcastle sold their stadium and Aston Villa sold their women’s team. Everton also sold their women’s team and still made a loss. These are community assets being traded to cover out of control spending.
