Okay, since you asked, here’s my American opinion. Soccer will never be as popular in America as football for 3 reasons: 1. The Fake Injuries Players are incentivized to flop because the other team is more likely to get a penalty. In football, it is the opposite. If a player has a real injury, play toughs it out and plays through it, it is seen as heroic. Americans like toughness and grit. 2. Chance Goals Many goals are scored by chance as opposed to skill. The chaos at the net when the ball is near is remarkable. Defenders blocking the goalie’s line of sight. The ball bouncing and ricocheting off of random body parts often determines if the ball goes in the net or out of bounds. In football, there are some elements of chance, but because players are allowed to use their hands, the points are primarily scored based on skill. Less is left to chance. Americans like control. 3. Low Scoring In football, it is still challenging to score, but it happens much more often. Also, every play has a chance for gratification and excitement: a first down, a big catch, a big hit, a sack, an interception, etc American like constant excitement.

Got a few comments about jabs and peptides so I’ll clear the air. No I didn’t take anything. The only supplements I have, Protein Powders and creatine (which I still take) Tried electrolytes - it was pointless. Tried collagen and found no affect to me at all.

Netflix canceling THE BOROUGHS after less than a month is exactly why people are afraid to invest in streaming shows. And no, this was not “the Duffer Brothers’ new show.” Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews created it, wrote it, and ran it. The Duffers produced it, but their names are being plastered across every cancellation headline because STRANGER THINGS gets clicks. THE BOROUGHS was built around Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Bill Pullman, and Clarke Peters. Older actors playing older characters for an audience that probably does not binge eight episodes the second Netflix drops them. That kind of show needs time. Instead, Netflix gave it a few weeks, looked at the spreadsheet, and pulled the plug before a large part of its target audience probably knew it existed. Maybe the Duffer name did not help after the STRANGER THINGS finale. Maybe Netflix expected their brand to carry the whole thing while barely marketing who actually made it. Either way, Addiss and Matthews planned three seasons and got less than a month to prove the first one deserved to continue. How is any show supposed to find an audience when Netflix kills it before word of mouth can even start?

@ConnCFC Football in the US is less accessible to the masses. Meanwhile there are thousands of Basketball courts or Baseball pitches everywhere. Also, there’s a pay to play culture around Football in the states that just doesn’t make it easier for them to progress.

I believe we now have evidence of FIFA's World Cup ticketing shell game: FIFA is colluding with third-party resale platforms for its own supply management. Look at this SeatGeek map (secondary market!) for Saudi Arabia vs Cape Verde. The circled areas are not random single resale tickets, but large, contiguous blocks of seats: entire rows and swaths in sections 101/102, 112/113, 119/120, 134–137, 139, ... The blue circles appeared weeks ago, then the purple blocks suddenly showed up a day or two ago, and the red blocks seem to have appeared recently too. That's not what ordinary fan or even commercial scalper resale looks like who resell pairs, fours, and scattered seats. Instead, this looks like inventory being dumped in bulk onto secondary markets, at prices below FIFA's official site. Why doesn't FIFA just lower prices on its own site Probably because official price cuts could trigger refund demands, chargebacks, or consumer-protection headaches from fans who already bought at much higher prices. Instead FIFA keeps official prices high, avoids openly admitting the market-clearing price is lower, and moves unsold inventory through third-party resale platforms instead.
