I removed the telemetry from cliamp. I heard you all loud and clear. Regardless of whether you could opt out! Privacy > me knowing the MAU. Even though it is an anonymous ping.

Vielen Dank für den wichtigen Hinweis! the founder of openclaw joined the company that was founded to make AI open and now charges you per token. and is now telling you open models aren't there yet. i run qwen 3.5 27b on a single 3090. 50 tok/s. it writes code, handles tool calls, runs agent sessions for hours. the model built a full space shooter, 3,000+ lines, from a single prompt. i published the data. "open models aren't there yet" is what you say when your harness can't parse tool calls on local models and you blame the model instead of fixing the harness. i have the DMs. people switch from openclaw to hermes agent and their "broken" models suddenly work. pair a good model with a good harness like hermes agent where parsers are built per model. your data stays on your machine. no API key. 0 subscription. no one training their next model on your thinking. don't listen to someone with an OpenAI paycheck telling you open source can't do the job. install it. test it yourself. the receipts are on my timeline. he built a harness that couldn't handle local models and chose the API paycheck over fixing it. that should tell you everything.
Peter Steinberger 🦞@steipete

@sbaratelli @nvidia @openclaw most folks will want as much intelligence as possible, and open models aren't there yet.

a lot of people mention "freedom of association" and stuff like that but miss the point. I don't give a rat's ass whom the devs there want to associate with or not - my problem is that we are making an (essentially) tyrannical platform the primary and only place for a lot of important development of the linux platform. There is no other space for many of the projects. With such a situation, if the "enforcement" deems - not even proves, just feels like you don't fit - you can't submit patches (meh), you can't ask questions (?), you can't report bugs (!!), or even security vulnerabilities (!!!!!). If someone banned from fdo finds an RCE in, say, pipewire, I guess the correct course of action is to abuse the RCE to hack the entirety of fdo developers so that one of them realizes there's a problem, or something. My favorite part is how bans are like, completely upside-down: - Metux: cited as a "far right nutjob" - banned permanently. How exactly does that matter? If Xorg devs didn't want his patches, there are 100 ways to do it differently than banning. Have you tried - I don't know - asking? Saying "hey respectfully we don't like this, please make a fork and do your stuff there" - outside of that one LKML thread I haven't seen the guy talk about his politics, like, anywhere linux-related. - Swick: actively hostile, aggressive and vulgar in his communications - temporary few months ban. *checks notes* aaahhh yes, because swick voted for the right party in the elections, riiight. My bad, how could I forget? Sometimes I wonder if some people there aren't paid to sabotage foss so that it doesn't get too good. It's probably not true - almost definitely, but it would be hilarious. These people do it for free, out of egoism, because they believe their opinion is the most important - and the only one that is correct. I guess I've talked to enough people to realize that no opinion is correct. They are all opinions and on any given topic, there are multiple correct ideas, most of which incompatible with each other. Life is about balancing those opinions and trying to make everyone as satisfied as possible, not about taking one opinion, killing everyone else, and claiming you've fixed the world. We've tried that already, many times. Did not work.

@TukiFromKL He should have not been allowed to build his delivery service on the backs of the US postal service. USPS should have charged a lot more and used that to reinvest in their vehicles and infrastructure. Amazon has always used predatory pricing selling online at a loss.

🚨 Let me explain what Jeff Bezos is actually doing here.. > He already automated the warehouse workers with 750,000+ robots.. replaced checkout cashiers with cameras.. tested drone delivery.. built robots that move faster than humans.. > Now he's raising $100 billion to BUY entire manufacturing companies.. not to run them.. to automate them.. he's not investing in factories.. he's buying them to empty them.. > This is a man who built Amazon by undercutting every small business in America.. who crushed bookstores, malls, and retail chains.. who made same-day delivery possible by burning through workers so fast they literally ran out of people to hire in some cities.. > And now he's coming for the last thing left.. the factory floor.. the one place people said "AI can't do this.. you need human hands".. $100 billion.. not to create jobs.. to buy the companies that have them and remove the people inside.. your factory job survived the recession.. survived outsourcing.. survived COVID.. it won't survive a billionaire with a shopping list and a robot..
