'The Paths of Life', a late 19th Century board game on display in Kirkstall Abbey House Museum, Leeds. Players have to make their way in life from 'Parental Care Hall' at the top of the board. Possible routes are through 'Direction Gate' and 'Obedient Close' on the one hand, or 'Indulgent Slope' and 'Self will Pathway' on the other. After various adventures, players end up either by the 'Peaceful Ocean' or 'Bottomless Pit'. Those Sunday afternoons must have flown by.
