George R. R. Martin has released statement on his progress on writing The Winds of Winter following rumours about a publication date and recent viral posts that he is almost finished. He has said that the book will be finished ‘When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. Then will another book be released and not before.’

I’ve said this before and it’s worth repeating! As a former public school teacher, I completely agree that parents need to do whatever they can to remove their kids from public education. Homeschool would be the best route if you can make that work. Did you know that there is absolutely no reason for a school day to last 7 hours?

I watched “The Kingdom Of Heaven” a few nights ago. This character, is King Baldwin. This image from the film has made the rounds on social media BUT…. It’s in many cases being used the exact OPPOSITE way of what the character represents. One quote from him in the film was… “Jews, Muslims… All are welcome in Jerusalem." Which is a stark contrast to what many who use this image portray when using it. He was a leper king who LIVED these ideals even unto certain death in defense of them. It’s a great film everyone should check out. Anyway…. It made me reflect on my personal ethos in these very divisive times. There’s a difference between using memes, ideology and religion to fit OUR narrative….. And attempting to embody the ACTUAL wisdom and sentiment. So a quick reminder to myself and anyone interested. I emulate the IDEALS the founders wrote. I emulate THE LIFE Christ lived. I fail often however… I don’t attempt to justify those failures. That breeds weakness and leads us further from the ideals. I try my best to maintain CONSISTENCY. I call out contradictions in SELF. I try to maintain the STANDARD. So if I put myself through those conditions… I must do the same to others. REGARDLESS. Understanding, respect, love, strength and disregard for collectivist bigotry is THE STANDARD. We fall short allowing OUR BIASES to overpower those values. Some read the Bible, the Constitution or even quote movies. Better is the attempt to LIVE THEM.
