Finally time for a lil job update! Super happy to be starting today as senior digital experience writer at @IKEA 💡 It’s a company I’ve loved for so long, and commuting over the bridge from Denmark to Sweden is SO EXCITING to my little English brain 🇩🇰🇸🇪

The great thing about learning Danish is that I finally get to live out my anxiety dream of finding myself in a language exam that I have 0% chance of passing

@LauraParkerUX I have nothing official, but personally yes to all 3! I deal with Danish and Swedish public services, and anything I can do online is great because it means I don't have to struggle on the phone, or get stuck in a recorded message I can't understand.

@LauraParkerUX I used to use this pretty often, and share it with colleagues. hodigital.blog.gov.uk/2015/12/29/tip… (also anecdotally from arriving in a country with very little of the language, and same for friends and colleagues too, the Google Translate 'translate this page' extension gets used A LOT)

@robin_parker If you have kids with you, I've heard the Disgusting Food Museum is supposed to be decent 😅 and if you have time, it can be worth walking to Västra Hamnen (new built area) to see the Turning Torso building

@robin_parker Stortorget, Lilla Torg and Gustav Adolfs Torg especially. If the weather is good, there's a nice walk through Slottsparken and around Malmö castle, that I think you can go in. And a decent food hall, Malmö Saluhall

Highly recommend changing to a new job because you love the company and want to feel creatively inspired again. Unless you live in Denmark and the new job is Sweden, and you're a foreigner struggling with your tax return (forskudsopgørelse). Then you're just an idiot.
