I like Halo 2 as a game, but that’s nonsense. There were plenty of People genuinely disappointed that half of the campaign was Arbiter’s and that there were only two Earth levels.

I think the reason that Halo fans hated on Halo 4's story is because they couldn't handle anything with more depth than a shallow pond. "WhAt aBouT HaLO Two!?" They hated that back then too lol (and that's why every character from Halo 2 lost 85% of their braincells in Halo 3)

The lack of aliens in the series showcases that Tony Gilroy think's he's above the material and that aliens would get in the way of his serious political show. When we do see aliens they are for the most part the same generic looking awful one's that most of Disney's Star Wars movies and series have. When you have a universe full of so many iconic and well known species of creatures it's a damn shame to shrink it down like this just because you'd clearly just be making some generic sci-fi show instead.

Here, Tony Gilroy is asked yet again whether he actually likes Star Wars. To what I'm sure is all of our shock and surprise, he stumbles through an entire minute-long answer without once indicating that he likes any Star Wars other than Andor, the show he made. Gilroy: "I didn't have the energy to invest... It couldn't ever get outside of my five-year block [of Andor]. So those five years is like, I know everything. I'm a fan of those five years. It's what's after and what's before [i.e. every single one of George Lucas's Star Wars films] that either confuses me or it's not worth my while to get involved in it..."

Halo 4 is functionally a hard retcon of the entire franchise. It's not the same universe anymore. And no amount of forced sad scenes where a violin plays in the background while Cortana goes through AI-schizophrenia (never how rampany was meant to work) will help it in isolation.
