Just too easy to believe that this came out of the administration of a convicted criminal...

@Haggis_UK Maybe he had some justification for claiming that in the 20th century, but he really can't "bend" the historical proof of the first quarter of the 21st.

@Heccles94 @davehomeless89 Interesting, if unintended, reflection on the difference between house prices in his constituency....versus those in a leafy village in Kent, which Farage has for long called his home.

@100glitterstars 3/3 ... those without mobile phones are also provided with easy access to their info, eg through public libraries + local council offices. For me, data held should be at least as much for my convenience as for that of any government.
English

@100glitterstars 2/3 I'd quite like it to hold my UK National Insurance number (work /benefits /pensions) and other unique identifiers for HMRC (tax) , and (optional) passport data, and maybe driving licence details....
-all in one place.
I'm keen to ensure that ...

Open and fair criticism (even that dressed up as satire) isn't something which true leaders should try to throttle.
Arbiter of Cool@ArbiterofCool
The full Theodore Roosevelt quote on the presidency. And it cannot be quoted enough.

@mjfree 1/2 I won't make any debate which might be misinterpreted (deliberately or otherwise) as in any way condoning assassination as a counter to democratic process.
The guy was a clever debater and manipulator, and it's unfortunate that he was on the oddball side of politics.

@BylineTimes Farage models Reform along the approximate lines of Trump's policies.
Imagine all those poor, subjugated women who voted for Trump, and how many are worried about the erosion of their rights, less than just 8 months after he was sworn in.

@antoniabance @supertanskiii I have huge respect for her professional achievements, but, sorry, she should have been smarter about her personal finances.
It gives me no pleasure to imagine all those smug, tax-avoiding, Tory politicians sniggering about this.

@g_gosden Just about every survey puts regular UK Christian church-goers to under 5%, some as low as 1.2%.
How can that infer that the UK is a "Christian" country?
Can anyone explain the connection between UK religion and patriotism?
I don't think there is one. share.google/L5yPxCoMOkD4Ds…

Britain is a Christian land. Not just culturally, but spiritually too. And the patriots know it. ✝️🇬🇧

@BearlyPolitics Begs the question...
Who would they *not* make a deal with, just to sweep their problem under the carpet?
When Reform have notable Trump-Lite traits, this stand out as that particular brand of Trump deal-making...
To retro-fit to the political agenda...
A deal at any price.

@DaleVince We don't need the soundbites any more... Give us the detail of what you're proposing, and how it mitigates against asset ownership being hidden behind shell corporations and trusts, whether or not registered in tax havens.

Surprising how many times I have to defend the idea of a wealth tax and the fact that I’m a ‘very rich’ person asking for it. It’s not a contradiction - Patriotic Millionaires is a group of people who feel exactly this way, we care about our country and we can see the inequality baked into our tax system. We want it changed.

@darrengrimes 2/2 Blow the carbon-filled smoke up your own receptacle.
English

@darrengrimes 1/2 Yes, it makes sense.
Those to whom UKGov grant licences are then free to make huge profits at the expense of the end user. They sell their product to the highest bidder, irrespective of which country that is.
All the while we have huge resources in renewable energy.

@Haggis_UK Unforgiven for Iraq...
But could, still benefit from politicians of his calibre as MPs today.
