Notice how foreign nations claim a Black athlete only after they accomplish something great.

@DlRECTME I’m black, I drive a car, I’m a computer programmer, I wear clothes from white designers, I invest in the stock market. These areas that come from other cultures as far as I know. Should I not do those things because of that?

i think the point all black americans are making is that you’re still appropriating black culture. don’t y’all have y’all own dances to do? why not do those? celebrate your own culture
marv@mvn_dn

That is NOT the original audio and these Filipina divas ALWAYS give credit to the og choreography. Cultural appropriation is a real problem but there’s a difference between stealing from / mocking a culture vs showing an appreciation / being inspired by it.

majorettes aren't black. black dancers added a certain swagger but it's not african american tradition in that sense. the first black majorettes group was in 1968. white ppl did stop doing it en masse once we started, which is obvious because we don't see them but...

@DlRECTME This is the dumbest status I’ve ever seen. Appropriating black culture? Just because they are dancing ? Culture appropriation is when another culture tries to appropriate another certain culture by acting just like them or doing it for that cultures benefit. Idiots lmfao

@TNwoman62 so you’re telling me that if black people just started using traditional filipino dances in their routines, it wouldn’t be a problem for filipinos? we’ll see

@DlRECTME This is very very stupid. Who cares? If this is the most disturbing thing in your life then you only have first world problems. Get a life.

@DlRECTME it's LITERALLY a collaboration between that Filipino school band and a literal HBCU, with a week-long workshop taught by a BLACK teacher from that HBCU. Not everything is an attack to your culture!

@laviediaries @mama_mia_09 nobody asked for the inspiration. be thankful for credit? why be thankful when yall could just perform your own cultural dances. if black people started tinikling and shit we’d be called every racist name in the book. it’s definitely that deep. do your own cultural dances.
