Network engineers/IT folks - if you want to learn to code for network automation this year, check out my course. I tried to take your feedback... *less* theory, on a tight schedule, more applied to network engineering. And I've only just started! Subscribe & check out the course: youtube.com/playlist?list=…

Any content creators out there using an over-monitor teleprompter or some other kind of solution? I usually wing it a bit but I'm working on something with more structure, I'd like to stick to more of a script with and not have it look like I'm just reading my screen if possible.

Freezing time in a fast-paced world and dizzyingly fast industry 🫶 the tech and the learning are fun, but the people I love and the community I serve are my "why"; wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays wherever you are in the world 🎄 I'm so glad you're here and no matter how you are spending this day, I hope you remember how much you matter to this big ol' digital dysfunctional family. You and what you bring to this world and to technology are a gift. Thank you for showing up and gracing all of us with it. Sending cheer and camaraderie to you!

The average senior network engineer is expected to maser 80+ dashboards / GUIs in modern operations These are *not* panes of glass; these are glasses of pain !

Today is one of those days that you don't spend as planned because you're too busy on customer support calls trying to not get scammed out of your own money. (Do not get a gym membership with Fit4Life Health Clubs... they are predatory and make it impossible to cancel!) And while I've got rage on my side, I am rage unsubscribing from as many subscriptions/memberships as I can. It's just too easy for companies to continue charging your credit card without any support or repercussions. On the bright side, once I've paid all of the extra months & fees I never should have had to pay, future me will save a lot of money!

@furt_tech Thank you!! I've tested 1, 3, and 4 so I'll try 2 and 5. Not the end of the world, but definitely annoying. Will keep you posted!

Hey network engineers! Level 1 of my coding course is out, and here's what I'm working on these next couple of months to make this as fast, fun, and relevant for you as possible: ** I'm having a series of convos with network engineers to identify best use cases for us to walk through together, based on what we've learned ** I'm working on script exercises that aren't boring and pointless... but also aren't beyond what we've been learning (I have a better idea than the exercises I started initially) ** I've begun planning and creating Level 2 of the course, where I strategically introduce AI for learning to code ** I'm brainstorming how we might be able to learn together and encourage one another... and whether that has to involve a Discord (aren't there too many discord servers??) ** As I have time leading up to Baby Dev, I'll be answering most frequently asked questions in the course so far via new videos Thank you for being so engaged with the course, providing feedback, asking questions, and just overall being open-minded to learning to code. I can't wait to see where we can take this. Rest assured that I will continue refining this course until it is the best "get-up-and-running" practical coding course for network engineers out there. More posts coming... and keep your questions and ideas coming!! <3 Erika the Dev

Does it matter if our code is "really simple"? Here's yet another misconception about coding (in general, but also relative to network engineering and other domains): We don't need people who write "complex" code... we need people who solve problems that matter. youtu.be/nzBcTqmE4OY?si…
