Graeme Souness presents #FrankSinatra with a crystal decanter in 1990 after Ol' Blue Eyes' performance at Ibrox Stadium. Sinatra later sent a letter to the #RangersFC manager which read: "Dear Graeme, Thank you for the marvellous gift. It has a special place in our California home. And the wonderful people of Glasgow will always have a special place in my heart. I was shown so much love and warmth at the Ibrox Stadium concert that I am still overwhelmed by the reception I received. It is a memory I will always cherish. Warmest regards, Frank Sinatra." The legendary singer's Glasgow show featured 17 songs, including You Make Me Feel So Young, Strangers in the Night and My Way. 352 and one-nil down at half time against Côte d’Ivoire on a cold Tuesday night in Liverpool. Harvey Barnes would have loved this 😢

Some (wholly unqualified) thoughts on the #Scotland v Japan game. We lack pace on the wings in a 4231 without Doak. Why not try Tierney and Patterson there? McTominay is our best striker, play him there.  Why start McLean when Miller could get more int. experience instead.

Reading Football Club would like to apologise to supporters who experienced delays entering Kenilworth Road ahead of today’s match. The issue was caused by an error in the way Reading provided the digital ticket data to Luton Town, which meant the barcodes supplied did not initially scan correctly at the turnstiles and entry took longer than planned for travelling fans. We would like to thank Luton Town and their staff for their support in helping resolve the issue and ensuring all Reading supporters were able to gain entry in time for kick-off. The club will review the process that led to this error and take steps to ensure it does not happen again. We apologise to supporters for the inconvenience caused.

That photo of Andrew circulating is one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen. We need a full inquiry into what the Royal Family did and didn’t know. This is a national disgrace.

Brown, Nakamba, Saville, Yates, Walters, Makosso. What are we actually paying those six in wages? And that’s before you even get to Baptiste. We’ve got to be burning £60/70k+ a week on players who can’t even get near the matchday squad regularly. That’s not misfortune, not “transition”, not bad timing, it’s utter, indefensible mismanagement. Absolutely staggering.

Note to the BBC: the power of Scotland and why they deserved more respect than a cringey wave-a-thon on Spoty. Where to start? Second oldest footballing nation in the world. Developed styles of football 150 years ago still pursued today. No Scotland, no passing. Helped spread the joy of football around the world, igniting the passion in Brazil and Argentina. Helped nurture famous English clubs like Aston Villa. Introduced keepie-uppie to Wembley. Gave the game the wonderful Baxter, Law, Johnstone, McGrain, Bremner, Dalglish, Hansen, Souness and more recently Robertson and McTominay. Gave the game managers of the calibre and vision of Shankly, Busby, Stein and Ferguson. Brought the refreshing and well-refreshed mobile party of the Tartan Army to tournaments, fans who raise spirits and raise funds for charities wherever they go. Have an anthem that stirs the blood and the soul. Qualified for the World Cup with a performance of guts and goalscoring glory. Staged their own Puskas award competition against Denmark. Guided by a modest, proud and quietly inspirational manager in Steve Clarke. Who should have had the successful, charismatic McTominay on the Spoty shortlist. McTominay deserved more respect from Spoty. So did Scotland.
