Governor Maura Healey today announced that her Fiscal Year 2026 budget proposal will include an outside section to eliminate renter-paid broker fees.

As a landlord, my expenses increase annually.
Taxes, cost of maintenance and repairs only go up. Renters benefit from using brokers by getting exclusive listings, having appointments scheduled and paperwork completed. Most of the benefit and convenience is for the tenant.
