@FirstTechFed I am still not seeing a compelling reason to vote yes on the merger. Expanded access? There are already thousand's of CO-OP branches across the nation for routine banking. I do not foresee a sudden need for something like in depth retirement planning services while on the east coast. Improved experiences? Anything concrete? What would having even more members allow you to do that are not possible now? Stability? A six legged stool is already stable. Is twelve legs better or just bigger? Community impact? Net is going to be the same. Just under one name. Except with a chance that the new DCU sourced leadership will have a unconcious bias towards older DCU causes and locations. Employee growth? How? The new org would have one CEO, one CFO, one CISO, one Director of . Previously the two organizations each had one in each leadership position. You are cutting upward mobility in half for the rank and file. I am not seeing any clearcut advantages while we take the risk that this becames yet another example of a merger for the sake of growth. Boeing and McDonnell Douglas. AOL and Time Warner. Daimler and Chrysler. Sprint and Nextel. Microsoft and Nokia. HP and Compaq. The list is near endless.
