Since 350 days... @TunduALissu is arbitrarily detained based on politically motivated charges. He is charged with treason, the most grave criminal offence underTanzanian law. He is held as an unconvicted prisoner in solitary confinement in a 6x6m cell on death row under constant CCTV camera surveillance and isolation to the outside world. He is denied confidential communication with both his family and his lawyers, and no judge has visited to address violations of his rights. He was last brought before the High Court in Dar es Salaam between 9 and 24 February 2026, after 88 days without a hearing since 12 November 2025. On 24 February 2026, the prosecution filed an Application at the Court of Appeal, temporarily halting the High Court proceedings. Although Tundu Lissu filed a Certificate of Urgency from prison on 10 March 2026 for the Application to be heard at the earliest available date, no hearing date has been set yet. He remains in remand detention, now totaling 350 consecutive days. We demand his immediate and unconditional release!!! Share his story! Talk about his case on social media under #FreeTunduLissu .
