Australian football representation features on the international stage as South Sudan pick up huge 2027 AFCON Preliminary Round qualifying victory 🇦🇺🇸🇸 The South Sudan men's national team have taken a huge step forward in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 4-0 win over Djibouti in Juba with a number of Aussie-based players on the pitch 👀 Marconi Stallions attacker Teng Kuol scored on his South Sudan international debut with Green Gully attacker Kur Kur, Hume City player Godfrey Debele and Adelaide United forward Ajak Riak starting in the victory. Australian-raised goalkeeper Majak Mawith also featured in the match and kept a clean sheet for his nation. In just a few days, South Sudan take on Djibouti in the second leg of the tie.

Two Aussie-based players create history as Eritrea return to the international stage with a win 🇪🇷🇦🇺 The last time the Eritrean men's national team had featured in an AFCON competitive match was 18 years ago. Today, Eritrea broke their absence with a win over Eswatini and two Australian-based players were both heavily involved 🔵🔴🟢 Western United U21 goalkeeper Yonathan Sultan and Preston Lions defender Jamal Ali both featured for Eritrea in their first-leg 2-0 2027 AFCON qualifying win over Eswatini. In just under a week, Eritrea, with a two-goal advantage, will travel to Lobamba to take on Eswatini in the second leg of the tie.

A big blow for Cameroon ahead of their clash against the Socceroos ❌🇨🇲 Manchester United forward and Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo has withdrawn from the Cameroon national team and will not make the trip down under for the upcoming FIFA Series. The 26-year-old has been ruled out due to injury and will remain in the United Kingdom during the international men's window.
