What's happening world? I just tried the most interesting wine. Ever heard of #Brazin? This was a 2010 #zinfindal. My wine rep friend had this old bottle. 8 yrs old! SO MUCH FLORAL & grain flavor. I would describe it as jasmin rice. So fun! That's what #Wine is all about, right?

@marc_coventry Nice!! I was blown away by this one. It had a unique flavor to me. Next time, I'll try it with a bbq dish. Thanks for your input!

Fun fact, texture in white #wine refers to acidity which can feel(on a scale from acidic to neutral)tart, crisp & soft. Texture in red wine refers to tannicity & can be described as astringent, firm & soft. Understanding this is good because you'll be better at finding your favs!

Tasting #wine can be complicated if not done in order. Remember that the initial characteristics are felt in the mouth. Then specific flavors like say strawberry are percieved through the retronasal passage. At first sip try looking for sweetness, texture & body. Hope this helps!

@HadMerlot The error is in the relative tannin levels of the grapes. For example: My experience is that Tempranillo (primary in Rioja but also widely grown in Portugal as Aragonez and Tinta Roriz) shows at least moderate tannin levels across the Iberian penninsula: google.com/amp/s/winefoll…

Rule of thumb for serving #wine is, chilled for white and room temp for red. However, because tannins taste more bitter when cold, it's the tannicity which determines a wine's proper serving temp. So lighter reds like #pinot should be served a bit cooler than ones like #cabernet.

@julietbravofox The main message is in the written content. The chart is a general guide for which wines may be better suited for a cooler temp. You can share with me a more accurate chart if you have one.

As "grigio" means grey in #Italian, the same goes for "gris" (gree) in #French. The difference is not the #grape variety in this instance but rather a regional/cultural difference. As the story goes, the French refused to have an Italian word on their bottle. 🌍

Did you know you can tell how sweet your glass of #wine is without even tasting it? It's all about the swirling technique. Just as honey sticks to the side of its bottle, so does sweet wine. So, after swirling check how much residue is left on the glass. More residue=more sugar😘

So excited about #Muirwood #Chardonnay, a new FAVORITE! My opinion is that it's super buttery & smooth, a little oaky, some elegant fruit flavor and bold vanilla. It's pretty dry but addictive. Great paired with pesto chicken or all by itself. #CHEERS to me!👌 @ABCWineCountry

@HermannTLombard "A careful slurp" I like that! I'm still working on my accuracy but kudos to you, that's pretty good. :)

@HadMerlot Observing the legs, or a careful slurp. I used to be accurate to about a half percent. I may have lost fine detail while concentrating on craft beer. Cheers, and thanks for following!

Observing the legs(droplets) on your glass of #wine can actually tell you how much alcohol it contains without even reading the label. #Alcohol evaporates faster than water. So after swirling check to see how fast they develop. The faster they form the higher the alcohol content.
