@HandiTipsGaming Sorry about the rant lol, MH is my favorite video game franchise and I've been playing it for nearly my whole life, so I got a little carried away. I think there's a lot of potential but since Iceborne in particular I've kind of disliked the way the series is going.

@HandiTipsGaming tbh i dislike the game because of the performance across effectively its entire lifespan, and all of LR not integrating whatsoever with multiplayer even after 1000+ hours, HR999, and participating in as many of the limited events+TUs

@UndoubtedlyLink @DragonDad771 Performance has had a big overhaul and has been much better for sure. Do see if you can find any testimony with specs more in line with yours to be safe tho!

@HandiTipsGaming @DragonDad771 How's the performance now? Does it still require a high end rig to run "smooth" without looking like it could pass as a Switch game? I bought it at launch and refunded it. Keen on getting back on it though if it's a solid experience now.

@GoldSebi See that’s the beauty of Monster Hunter for me that there’s an entry for everyone and even the ones we don’t like the most are still enjoyable experiences

@HandiTipsGaming I started after the final titel update, the game isn't bad by any means despite still being hard to run though I feel like I had a better time with rise overall Especially wilds' co-op felt like a downgrade in comparison

@KingTheGalaxy28 It’s a tough balance to strike with old players, new players, accessibility, etc. I do like the level of challenge the 10* monsters have presented and hope that’s the launch point for the expansion. Don’t give up hope just yet tho!

@HandiTipsGaming I feel like it went from too easy to too hard (for repeating High Rank fights), but thankfully the stuff I'd consider too hard is pretty optional. Does have me a bit worried about G rank though, I worry they might try to overcompensate way too hard going forwards.

@HandiTipsGaming Much appreciated! Sounds really good, I wish it wouldn't use the Worlds kind of co-op, because I wanted to play it with my partner, but we dropped Worlds because of it. Sunbreak has been incredibly fun though, so I hope that dev team gets to release a new title soon enough.

@ValorousVisit It seems the direction the games combat is heading isn’t for you and that’s completely valid! I love the monsters and combat in Wilds but it doesn’t make your take any less valid because you can actually speak on experience.

@HandiTipsGaming does the same thing Of course, Longsword is THE BIGGEST OFFENDER in this, keeping on spamming Iai-Spirit Slash until a partbreak, then the Crimson Slash 1 + Spirit Slash 1 two button combo on repeat It's not fun and I don't know what they can do to fix this, if anything

@pancakeinagony Which is more than fair! I have no issue with people disliking Wilds, we SHOULD criticize games and franchises we love…. It’s when people just echo things they hear blindly or spread misinformation is where I have a problem

@HandiTipsGaming Ive A ranked AT arkveld, my dislike of so many things is not without many, many hours of experiencing it. Worst offender is the hand holding hints you can not disable.

@NytoDork Performance has gotten much better and the 10* monster quests have been the highlight for me. A lot of good QoL/additions for weapons to make them feel even better and smoother. Co-op experience is much the same if you felt it was convoluted then

@HandiTipsGaming Ive played after each title update and my opinion has slowly gotten better but I still firmly believe Wilds deserves its mixed rating on steam

@HandiTipsGaming I do think a game should be complete at launch if they are selling it for 70 USD. They shouldn't add core features which needed to have on launch via updates.

So, here's my take on the recent discovery in the ongoing Monster Hunter: Wilds PC performance fiasco. I needed to wait a bit before posting as more sources were able to confirm the initial posts. The main reason I wanted to make this post is because I've seen a lot of clowns recently saying that because the DLC checks only affected hub/camp performance that it "doesn't matter." Their inability to consider how these issues may be affecting other hunters is frankly quite loathsome. I've been one of the fortunate ones who had the "season pass" at launch, so the issues never struck me thankfully. But think of all those that didn't... It DOES matter. Being quite attuned to the qualms of this community myself, I've had hundreds of people stop by this past year asking: "how can I fix the game crashing when I enter the hub?" Many of my community and I were dumbfounded as to why this issues was persisting with a seemingly fresh flow of new players experiencing hub crashes. Even those who weren't crashing were getting sub 30 fps dips, sometimes in the single digits that made menu navigation and hunting prep a real challenge. It annoys me immensely as all of this could have been avoided simply by NOT implementing aggressive anti-piracy measures. It's funny to think that the ACTUAL pirates will have a smoother running gameplay experience than the legitimate customers because they don't have to deal with all the anti-tamper. Now I LOVE Monster Hunter: Wilds, but my love for it doesn't mean I'm delusional, and thus blindly support it regardless of it's faults. We in the community have a duty to OUR viewers, supporters & fans to inform them and call out the shitty monetization practices in the industry. We also have (I believe) a role to play in preventing events like this from occurring in the future by vocalizing our discontent with said issues. Now I have no doubt that Capcom will fix this problem. I have no doubt in my minds that the devs, designers, artists and creators involved in the making of Wilds played no part in this egregious F'up. But someone knew. Somebody in a suit made the decision to completely ruin Monster Hunter: Wilds on PC for potentially thousands of loyal customers. This aggressive approach to anti piracy needs to stop. Capcom, you're actively killing your games for many of your most loyal fans and I don't even think you realise it. As a Capcom creator, I implore you to take a look at what you're doing, and stop. Or I can see Monster Hunter going the way of many other beloved franchises: straight in the bin. Guys, stop blindly brushing off issues in Monster Hunter, just because it's our collective favourite. If you do, there won't BE a Monster Hunter worth defending. Enjoy the game, (as I have myself) but demand it to be better! With the recent stability issues resolved by rewriting the Digivolution Tree Planners, freeing up a ton of system resources that were previously strained by unoptimized database calls, I think it's finally time to take a break from working on Grindosaur. There's still a lot left to cover for Time Stranger, including treasure chests, Digimon spawns, shop data, a proper walkthrough, and more. However, I've been going for 16 months without a proper day off, and I think it's starting to show. My output has slowed down, I've been stressed, and my sleep has been terrible (if I even slept at all). So, with the essentials covered for now, I want to announce that I'll be taking a break from updates and changes to the site for a while, to relax a bit, finally catch up on my reading (my book backlog is massive), maybe paint some minifigures, and play some games purely for fun again. I really need some time off… But don't worry, once I'm back, you can expect a lot more to be added to the site! Not just Time Stranger content, either. I've got plenty of reworks, expansions, QoL improvements, and other ideas lined up. For now, I just need some time to myself. I hope you understand!
