I don't usually post personal stuff on here but last Tuesday my life was forever changed. My darling husband @tfbubendorfer was killed hit by a car while out for a run in Madrid. We were married 25 years with 4 children and still so much in love. There are no words.

As a person dealing with depression/anxiety there are times when you think it’s better not to be around because life ware’s on you - it’s in that moment of desperation that people take their lives (combination of hopelessness and depressive symptoms.

@UWBadgers I lost my Father to suicide in 2017 and still struggle to understand how he felt or what he was thinking. At times I even feel like I failed him by not seeing something first. I pray her family finds some comfort 🙏😔

People asking what my “break” looks like? Truly no running, no exercise, and no lifting for 2 full weeks. I like to believe this forced break after every season has led to the longevity and injury free years of my running career.

I know this is premature as a clinical medical student, but I am STOKED to be an intern, long hours and scut work included. There is extraordinary privilege and responsibility in being a patient's primary point of contact with the medical system.
