Czech Republic police have opened a criminal investigation after the country’s football association identified 47 cases of suspected bribery and match-fixing. The Czech FA (FACR) announced on Tuesday that the disciplinary proceedings had started against clubs, officials, referees and players with most suspects receiving a provisional ban from competitive activity. The chief state prosecutor Radim Dragoun confirmed that national and regional police authorities were conducting searches of properties and questioning individuals in connection with the case.
