@Insideus4Wolves @badguyjunko @benchwarmedLOL i persued said friendship and became, myself, codependent. i did not encourage or coerce my ex into anything, there was no malice, there was no "i'm going to do X and Y so my friend will be codependent on me!" - it was pure idiocy on my part and i let codependence get too much.
