It being a good game does not take skill of either player into account, you are just stating that you enjoyed the game. I say gg as a sign of respect to my opponent in every game I play regardless of outcome.

It is probably not meant as a bait to trick you into reacting but as a way to thank you for playing the game. It takes two for a game of HS.
