And bc this guy has 200k followers, at least one unemployed 20yo is going to dedicate a month to tormenting the artist whose full name and job he helpfully included. He’s fully aware of this side effect of the internet, he just doesn’t care

"delays to the completion of Block 4 software upgrades have left F-35s unable to launch air-to-surface missiles" ...what?
FrameTheGlobeNews@FrameGlobeNews

Iran’s Majid air-defense system, officially designated AD-08, is a domestically produced, road-mobile, short-range surface-to-air missile platform that first appeared in a military parade in April 2021 and has since emerged as the most consequential weapons development of Operation Epic Fury. The system’s defining feature is entirely passive: it detects engine heat rather than bouncing radar waves off a target, which means it triggers no alert on the F-35’s radar warning receivers and renders the aircraft’s electronic countermeasures useless against a passive optical seeker. On March 19, it struck a U.S. F-35A over central Iran, forcing an emergency landing with the pilot sustaining shrapnel wounds, marking the first confirmed surface-to-air engagement of a fifth-generation fighter in operational history. That record has continued to compound: Friday’s F-15E shoot-down, confirmed by U.S. officials, went down over similar central Iranian terrain, with the IRGC again citing a “new, advanced air-defense system,” suggesting Iran has deployed the Majid at scale, and today, April 3rd, Iranian media claimed U.S. rescue efforts involving at least two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 Hercules had failed, with reports that the pilot, who had ejected over western Iran, was likely captured. The uncomfortable arithmetic here is structural: delays to the completion of Block 4 software upgrades have left F-35s unable to launch air-to-surface missiles, requiring them to fly close to their targets, which leaves them more vulnerable to short-range systems precisely like the Majid, meaning the aircraft’s procurement logic and its battlefield exposure are now working against each other in the same airspace.

@nochnoy_dozor The idea of a "Day Of The Rope" feels inherently reactionary to me and while I certainly don't naysay revolutionary violence, we should conduct ourselves in a better way.

@nochnoy_dozor You know, everybody wants to just shoot people, but I have really come around on rededucation. Do you know how good it would feel to make Pete Hegseth take classes for 10 years to relearn how to be human? You can only kill someone once!

China Xinhua News
"Everything has been built so beautifully. I wish your father could have seen it too." 108-year-old Duan Guixiu is one of the last surviving widows of Red Army martyrs in Yudu County, China's Jiangxi Province. For decades, she held onto a promise made by her husband shortly after their marriage -- that he would one day return to her. Yet, though the return she longed for never came, she lived to see the world that the martyrs had fought so hard to create -- a life well-provided for, a life that carried the weight of their sacrifices.
