I share everyone's alarm about college students who won't read whole books. But don't blame us, man: libraries have been straight-up bribing your kids to read every summer with slap bands and temporary tattoos pretty much since Alexandria.

Rescued a downed and dehydrated little brown bat at the library today. I will release her tonight after work. She's about 3-4 inches long and full of fury

Looking at all the states with proposed laws that would criminalize librarianship makes me think that there are some legislators out there who, years ago, really REALLY didn't like their summer reading prizes.

They're mad about "quiet quitting." They're mad about "quiet vacationing." But ask them about libraries and they're like "I liked them better when they were quiet." Make up your minds
