🚨TRENDING: A Reddit users just found a way to end tanking in the NBA:
- All arena beers start the season at $10 league-wide
- For ever win, teams can sell beer for + $0.35
- For ever loss, teams must DROP beer price -$0.20
If this were in place, Wizards would have to pay fans 10 cents every time they ordered a beer.

@BrianSwaw Little to no benefit to the host programs??? Maybe we should review the funding afforded to RTCs from USAW. Back in the day, I called out Overtime for this and that got locked down in 20 minutes. 🤣

From my earlier post on RTC, as it is starting to get some good comments.
The issue is much more complex than it may initially appear. College coaches often receive last-minute calls on a Friday or Saturday, informing them that a group will be coming to train. This short notice forces coaches to scramble to adjust their plans and find athletes for the visitors to practice with. In some cases, these groups simply arrive after regular practice hours, requiring coaches and wrestlers to stay late.
If the coaches do not accommodate these unexpected visits or even planned visits, the groups may threaten to go elsewhere and voice their complaints on social media. They often engage in a comparison game, suggesting that other programs are doing more for their athletes, like Jax….. Sorry, wasn’t supposed to say that…
For example, the Bishop McCort team regularly trained at Penn State, while the Raney's trained at Illinois, and Marcus Blaze trained at Ohio State, with little to no benefit to the host programs. All of these teams have jumped through numerous hoops, investing significant time and money. While this situation may arise again, implementing stricter rules could at least provide some support to universities. As I said, you would be surprised to learn who proposed this idea and how much backing it received. It's going to happen and needs to.
Lastly, hearing whispers of a few signings trickling out later today.

It’s Friday.
Jacob Warner accepts an Iowa assistant coaching position, as I was sworn to secrecy by a trusted source. I mentioned it was a former Hawkeye who wouldn’t move the needle for the Iowa fan base. I like the hire. I know the family, and it’s been a whirlwind for them. Jacob accepts the job in Denver, gets engaged, and gets offered the Iowa assistant coaching job—all in the same month. Cue the “I’m coming home” song
I had no information on Meyer yesterday, as my only Ivy ties are at Princeton. However, there were rumors flying about Shapiro at NCAA regarding the portal. When the portal opened and he didn’t enter, it signaled he and the coaching staff were seeing eye to eye. @Cornell_Kevins should read his post, as he is spot on.
Yesterday was a slow day on the portal, except for Meyer entering. There are lots of visits happening and plans scheduled for this weekend, but no signings to report.
A few tidbits:
West Virginia has a few visits lined up with guys at 133/141 that would fit nicely in their lineup. I've heard their name a few times in the last few days.
Missouri has more money to dip into the portal than most realize. However, they are looking for wrestlers to fit there strong culture. Go look at previous portal signings. I still believe hometown Fuguit is their main target.
Add Meyer now to Knox, Provo, Garvin, Norman, Robinson, and Crookman.
The Magnificent Seven need to sign within the next 3-5 days to open the floodgates within the portal. I believe most of the same teams are vying for their services—Nebraska, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, Iowa State. Watching how these chips fall will be interesting to see how other teams pivot and who else jumps in. Shapiro will not be the last surprise to enter the portal this year.
Lastly, more news trickling out of the Big 10 meeting indicates that coaches are looking to enforce a rule: no high school kids in RTCs unless they live within 50 miles. The coaches approved it; now it will move up the chain. You would be surprised who suggested it, and surprisingly, all the big RTC teams agreed. They spend a ton of time and big dollars with little return.
Should have more specific updates throughout the day.

@ChiSoxFanMike So you thing he’s an upgrade over Murphy? KIDDING! 🤣
