@mtucreativity Construction costs are dependent majorly on variables like geographical location, choice of materials, and resource mobilisation. There are no one-size-fits-all. 2 projects can also be identical in design but costs and risks are unique.

Any construction expert with an idea of how much such a project would cost?

@Bygones_24 Governments are designed to be inefficient in service delivery.

Most small-scale water projects in Kenya—especially those run by Counties—are engineered for failure. They ignore a fundamental law of Kenyan infrastructure: OPEX is where projects go to die.
If a water pump relies on a monthly KPLC bill, it is already a white elephant. Unpaid bills rack up millions in KES, the power is cut, and the community goes thirsty.
The Survival Hierarchy for Water Projects:
1) Gravity-Based Systems (The Gold Standard): These are the only projects with a 100% survival rate. They don't send an invoice, they don't require "tokens," and they are immune to the impunity of debt. If the topography allows it, gravity is the only "set and forget" solution.
2) Solar-Powered Pumps (The Only Alternative): If you can’t use physics, you must use the sun. Decentralizing the energy source "air-gaps" the water supply from the financial chaos of the national grid.
The Rule: If it isn't gravity-fed or solar-driven, don't build it. Anything else is just a liability waiting for a disconnection notice. 🇰🇪💧 #WaterSecurity #KenyaInfrastructure #CountyGovernments

Isaac Ruto mocked the 60-year logic, of moving water from 2000m to 1000m for free, then spend billions pumping it back to 1800m. It wastes energy and money losing gravity advantage, then paying to regain it through costly pumping systems.

@Kapyoseiin I'll understand him. Raids were no longer tenable after the death of Koitalel. Remember their father Kimnyole was killed by Nandi (1890) under accusation that he was responsible for famine, sickness, raid sanctioned against Kavirondo which led to killing of 498/500 warriors..

The Second Talai Traitor from the Talai Clan.
This is Kipeles Arap Terer (also known as Kibeles Araap Terer). He was one of those accused of betraying Koitalel Arap Samoei.
According to community accounts, he had met with British officer Richard Meinertzhagen and was allegedly promised Koitalel’s position as Orkoiyot if he helped deliver him.
He is said to have hired spies to monitor Koitalel’s movements and relayed the information to the British.
Kipeles belonged to the Kapmarasoi sub-clan of the Talai. After Koitalel’s assassination in 1905, he was installed by the British as the new Orkoiyot. However, he did not hold the position for long — he died within a few years.
His photograph has frequently been misused by many people, who mistakenly (or deliberately) present it as that of Koitalel Arap Samoei. In reality, Koitalel had no direct contact with the white man until the day of his death.
He was not a hero, but a traitor in the eyes of many. We must stop using his image in heroic posts or articles about Koitalel.
He was not the legendary resistance leader — let’s correct our history and learn the truth.

@marrenmiral 95% of the population fall for lies and deception in the real world, same bias manifests in reaction to price action in the financial markets. It inherently depends on your mental structure.
