Between a man killing all of his children in Shreveport, a cop driving from Florida to try and come kill us all at JazzFest in New Orleans, white Republicans forcing a law through to stop a duly elected Black man from taking office, the Justice For Survivors Act that I PERSONALLY poured money, time, and resources in for YEARS being neutered into NOTHINGNESS by my own Senator, I am sad. Louisiana doesn't deserve this.

A Forgotten Medicine Rediscovered: Cannabis
For too long, we’ve been programmed to see cannabis through a distorted lens—labeled a "drug" and dismissed, feared, or criminalized, while truly toxic substances like alcohol, nicotine, and synthetic opiates were handed out like candy.
But science, experience, and ancient knowledge now converge to set the record straight.
Here are some facts.
Your body is already wired to interact with cannabinoids.
It’s equipped with a vast and intelligent system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)—a master regulatory network found in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.
This system plays a critical role in maintaining balance (homeostasis) in mood, pain sensation, appetite, memory, inflammation, and even immune function.
The body produces its own cannabinoids—endocannabinoids—like anandamide, often called the “bliss molecule.”
These are nearly identical in structure to the phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, such as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol).
Nature mirrors us.
We mirror nature.
Cannabinoids don’t hijack the body—they harmonize with it.
Unlike alcohol, which depresses the central nervous system, or nicotine, which rapidly spikes dopamine and leads to addiction cycles, cannabinoids modulate your system gently and holistically.
That’s why, when used responsibly, cannabis rarely leads to physical dependency—and has even shown promise in helping people get off truly harmful substances like opioids, benzos, or alcohol.
Let’s break another myth: Why does cannabis stay in the system so long?
Not because it's toxic.
But because it's fat-soluble and biologically relevant.
Your body holds onto it, metabolizes it slowly, and reuses it because it wants to—not because it’s being poisoned. Contrast that with alcohol, which is metabolized rapidly because the body is in a rush to purge it as a toxin.
A deeper truth:
Cannabis isn’t a threat—it’s an ally.
It has been used in healing traditions for thousands of years, from ancient Chinese pharmacopeia to Indian Ayurvedic texts.
Even the U.S. Pharmacopeia listed cannabis as a treatment for numerous conditions until 1942, when political and corporate agendas began rewriting history for profit and control.
To call cannabis a “drug” while calling a synthetic painkiller “medicine” is not just ignorance—it’s inversion.
When used with intention and knowledge, cannabis is more than a medicine—it’s a sacrament, a bridge between body, mind, and spirit.
It can be a guide into introspection, a balm for physical pain, a spark for creativity, and a teacher of humility and awe for the intelligence of the Earth.
So yes—cannabis is not a poison.
It is not a vice.
It is not a crutch.
It is a plant ally.
A key.
A medicine we were never meant to forget.
And now that the lies are unraveling, we remember.
