Our health care system is in crisis. It’s time for the provincial government to declare a state of emergency. Continued failure to act proactively will result in rationing health care and emergency services to those that have a higher likelihood of survival.

@HDemetrioff @jackielconnell You've got that right. Bill 64 will make things so much worse for students and families experiencing poverty. It will drive a bigger wedge between them and everyone else in the Education system.

PC have ran the largest deficit in MB history & instead of using that $ for healthcare, Education or saving small biz they are blowing borrowed $ on tax cuts that disproportionately go to wealthy MB. This is Morally bankrupt #mbpoli

Instead of people that are voted in by their communities, schools will now be run by people who bought tables at Tory fundraising dinners. #mbpoli

I can only imagine the cuts to classrooms in order to spend money on building a provincial education system. Administration costs are going to skyrocket. Interesting that the PCs were worried about a nonexistent “bloated bureaucracy”.

Another serious cut to education from the Pallister Government. Today’s announcement means school divisions, already struggling to meet student needs, will have to cut frontline staff to balance their budgets. Another dark day for education.

Manitoba may have a new Education Minister but we have the same government. I'm not hopeful this means a change in direction for K-12 education. Significant damage done, more on the way.

School patrols take on a big responsibility when they volunteer to help their classmates. We can help them in their efforts by modelling safe behavior while walking our kids to school & being being patient and alert when driving through school zones. #WPSCommunity #WPSINschools

Despite rumours there have been no additional restrictions placed on schools. Schools have done an excellent job managing this pandemic. Despite our best efforts public health orders could be extended to schools. Please do your part to reduce transmission.

Student numbers are counted at the end of September but this year things are different. "No school should lose money" because students are away or self-isolating. It’s our simple ask. Don't cut funding during pandemic, Manitoba NDP urges cbc.ca/news/canada/ma… #mbpoli #mbteach

Winnipeg School Division is following Public Health recommendations and will have non-medical masks available where needed. Plans to ensure safe and healthy schools is underway and more information will be shared with staff, students, and caregivers in the days ahead. #winnipegsd
