If you're starting a new role or position, remember this thought experiment... "What is the most compassionate response you could give to someone else? Then, respond to yourself in kind." Leadership, amidst our own humanity, is challenging and requires self-compassion.

Working out, journaling, quiet time, yoga, meditation, walking in the sunshine, sleep hygiene, and eating nutritiously are practices that support my leadership. They were all upended by a new schedule. However, they are practices. Iterate to keep practicing.

A strong start in a new role includes embracing the awkward. Have something in your teeth for half a day... Laugh at your faux pas. Have a sense of humour about it all.

Starting a new role? We're exploring some important reminders for a strong start. Beginning with, "Trust Takes Time." The ingredients of a vibrant team, vulnerability and trust, emerge amidst faithfulness. So, I'm trying to wrap myself in humility and open my heart.

Starting in a new role... Remember... "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast." It's true. Let's be thoughtful, intentional, and strategic.
