Spring growth on the Three-needled Monterey Pines - two #trees near Waitrose, #Lewes.

We were invited on a walk around Firle Village this morning to help them to find good sites for artificial House Martin cups. It was very interesting and we found several natural House Martin cups - and we saw two Swallows!

Fluffy female flowers amongst the new pink-brown leaves on the Copper Beech outside South Malling Church, #Lewes - a very impressive #tree with a lovely shape!

At South Downs Road, #Lewes, this morning to weed and mulch the five #trees that we planted there in 2015/2016 - Acer platanoides, (Norway Maple), Prunus avium, (Cherry), Ulmus Americana, (Princeton Elm), Alnus incana, (Grey Alder), and Sorbus intermedia, (Swedish Whitebeam).

Very early "handkerchiefs" on the Davidia involucrata, Handkerchief #Tree, at Malling Deanery Arboretum. The white bracts surround the purple-red flower head. I wonder what we will see on the guided walks during the #Lewes Tree Festival in June?

Lots more #Swifts passing above the Medoc region and heading towards us in #Lewes!

The Trektellen app shows some #Swifts passing through the Medoc region, just above Bordeaux, and rather a lot above Corsica. The first Swift was seen in #Lewes on 14th April last year - not long to wait before we are scanning the skies.

We enjoyed meeting lots of lovely visitors to our Easter craft event at #Lewes Climate Hub today - with some very artistic results! We had some wonderful talks about Swifts, trees, and #Climate action!

Lots of new leaves and even some flower buds on the Guelder Rose, red leaf buds on the dwarf Pomegranate #tree, and hundreds of flower buds on the Spindle! Spring is here in #Lewes!
