As a continent, we have been taught to believe that the sufferings in Sudan pales in comparison to that of Palestine.
In 2023, the African Centre for Strategic Studies pointed out that over 40 million people have been displaced by conflicts across the continent. Directly and indirectly, millions have been killed in Africa, and more will die if we continue turning a blind eye.
Sub-Saharan Africa has been a tension point with multiple wars and conflicts ongoing involving military juntas, militias and Islamic radicalists looking to seize control of territory.
Africa is a continent at war, and we tend to distract ourselves from the realities at home.
Before you take out the wood chip in your neighbour's eye, first take out the log in your own eye.
