1.) I'm loving that I see a lot of names in our submissions inbox that submitted before, and despite the rejection they are still submitting and they haven't stopped writing.
2.) Keep the submissions coming.
@_MarissaGlover_ I remember being just a little worried people would think it was political before, but given the state of things now, I figured it would be a good idea to clarify. 🤣
@LikelyRed I was just thinking about this the other day - what the journal name might mean. Political affiliation never crossed my mind. What a cool backstory. Thanks for sharing!
Also - we never really talked about it, but the color RED in our title was never political. I (me = Eric the editor) am gay and a Democrat. Red referred to the fact that I chose to go to the University of Louisville instead of University of Kentucky. 🤷🏻♂️ I'm not good with titles.
Thanks for the submissions! Keep them coming! We're open for fiction and creative nonfiction subs of up to 4,000 words, and poetry up to 100 lines. likelyred.com/submissions
Okay, the website is fixed for at least a year. 2019 was rough. 2020 is not going get me down! We're no longer a paying market but we're open to submissions via email. Let's play this by ear. If I don't hear anything I'll just move on with my life?
@LikelyRed Websites and editing can be demanding. I ran a political blog for 12 years. Gave it up to get my M.A. in creative writing. Politics is to stressful!
So, I tried to work a job job and do my creative stuff and keep the lit mag going, but it wasnt working. Now the lit mag is broken and I dunno how to fix it. I let the job-job go the other day. The hosting is fixed, and the editor email should be working again.
@Joanell Its Wordpress, but I think I have site functioning ok, just have to get the theme organized again. And caught up on emailing everyone back. With the domain nameservers goofed for a month, I think I missed a lot of emails.
@LikelyRed Is it WordPress? I found an awesome lady through a friend who fixed mine in about 15 minutes. She’s super reasonable too. I can dig up her name..
