@LockesBrother @robertlasagna1 I think history shows your premise that 1 is easier is faulty. We are getting to a point possibly of being more altruistic but as a whole species we are not there.

Then you say Christians need to push red—not because it’s good, but to protect us from selfish non-Christians. Christ did not teach us to become like our enemies to protect ourselves.

@LockesBrother @robertlasagna1 Except they won't. Anyone that's not living in a white, predominantly culturally Christian country will not press the blue button. The only way to ensure you live is pushing red. You're overcomplicating it.
There is no inherent morality to pressing blue over red here.

@robertlasagna1 I never said you are evil or affirmatively want people to die. I do think the implications of red are fundamentally immoral. I’ve been disturbed how many people I’ve seen say red, and even more disturbed how many tweets I’ve seen saying blue pushers deserve to die.

If everyone presses red, they live. There's actually no reason to press anything other than red.

@robertlasagna1 There are two ways to ensure no one dies:
(1) Coordinate to 50% +1 blue
(2) Coordinate to 100% red.
(1) is an extremely realistic option, frankly almost certainly what will just happen organically. (2) is impossible. If we want max(p) zero deaths, then blue is clear

Are there gonna be some selfish dinners? Sure. The blue strategy just requires you to live in a society where <50% of people are paranoid. Not that hard

I think people are choosing "blue" because then they can feel noble, but in the real world, with their life on the line, they'd press red.
I'd certainly press red! Just have the whole world press red, and nobody dies!

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Also all you have to do to push blue is bank on >50% of people being neither online autistic types nor sociopaths. Even the Twitter poll, highly selected for both, has majority blue. Blue all the way.
