Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. That’s what DEI stands for. It’s why you never hear Republicans actually spell it out. Because when you say “I’m opposed to diversity, equity & inclusion,” you sound like a white supremacist, which is what their entire policy agenda is built around.

PSA to universities: When your PhD students can’t afford rent, groceries, healthcare, childcare and other essentials, something is very wrong. We can’t expect students to succeed when they are struggling to cover basic living costs. Ok I think everything is turned in, and all the boxes checked, so I can announce, I will be starting as an Active Learning Initiative Postdoc next week at Cornell! I am excited to work with the faculty to develop new courses and continue my work in inclusive teaching 🌈🌼🍎

Providing demographic data for NSF: Actually, I do wish to provide my gender, but your survey does not include nonbinary scientists. You are not accurately assessing diversity when you erase queer and transgender scientists. @ISNBS_ #QueerinSTEM
