Once again a fantastic well done to Wolverhampton Schools: 2% above national for combined and my fav stat:27% of disadvantaged children (26% =boys) got GDS in reading setting them up for that 7-9 target in English GCSE & DFE research higher future earnings.

The root cause of 'poorer' schools - i.e. pupils not performing as well - is poverty. Pupils & schools in disadvantaged areas do less 'well' - in league tables - & receive poorer Ofsted grades as a result, is because they have less wealthy families.

Around 40 years ago this amazing lady Mrs Sharp was my mums English tutor - she empowered mum through language who in turn empowered generations of women in her family - daughters and grandaughters who have gone on to become Teachers, Cabinet Ministers, Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, Pharmacists, Entrepreneurs, Authors, Philanthropists, Military Officers, Professional Cricketers….the list goes on and on. An army of strong women who are changing lives both here at home and abroad Language matters Thank you Mrs Sharp ❤️
