If the NFL started reviewing every action by an offensive player after every touchdown, and then retroactively applied holding calls and hands to the face penalties etc, it would be the lamest thing ever. And that’s exactly what VAR has done to soccer. It sucks so bad
FOX Sports@FOXSports
After VAR review, a foul is called on Haaland in the box and the Norway goal is disallowed
English

@woodyVSworld Yeah, nearly as soft as LeBron flopping around
English

England player falls like a bitch and lays on the ground for 10 seconds instead of getting back in the play so the goal doesn’t count. Softest sport in the world
Woody@woodyVSworld
50% of goals in soccer are negated by offside (dog shit rule) or a bitch flop penalty Genuinely makes the sport hard to watch
English

@FOXSports Classic English media trying to create controversy instead of good vibes and support
English

@martynziegler FIFA also said the ball hit someone hair. Lol
English

@ESPNFC Absolute joke. This taken back, plus goal allowed to stand after hitting worse. WC has turned into the NBA playoffs level clown show. VAR every couple minutes stopping play, obvious wrong calls on VAR, 4 quarters, etc. ugh
English

@MikeWoitalla @tomsan106 There are no solutions, only trade-offs. By creating a bunch of leagues & taking out pro/rel to focus on ‘style of play’ & ‘development’, the ruthless competitiveness to find a way to win is gone. They’d rather show the world they can play good soccer than dig in vs a better team
English

I asked Tab Ramos about the #USMNT lack of World Cup progress vis-à-vis America youth soccer.
He cited:
👎The proliferation of "useless competition."
👍The Tom Byer @tomsan106 push for "soccer at home."

@CalebPongratz10 Criminals. They have made billions off this business but won’t pay for a grass field for their players

The natural grass surface installed at Gillette Stadium for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has officially been removed.
Back to artificial turf after hosting seven World Cup matches in Foxborough.

@GolazoAmerica @JimmyConrad He has the most talent, he wants the money but being the guy doesn’t suit his natural persona. He thrives in the 2nd or 3rd option best but that doesn’t pay as well. It’s a weird spot to be in.
English

"We need him to be better. Maybe he's just not the guy and we just have to accept that he doesn't want that responsibility."
@JimmyConrad reflects on Christian Pulisic's World Cup 🇺🇸
English

@talkSPORT Alexi said he would love soccer to be free for kids but who is going to pay for it. If you can figure it out, go for it.
Horrible and dishonest reporting
English

@TheBolivianYank Horse is out of the barn. MLS owns & controls youth soccer. They’ll never willingly give up that power
English

Hope nails it. There’s not enough developmental academies to cover our whole country. It’s laughable to think MLS can do it.
This is why we need to take away their division one status and open up the pyramid so teams can develop around the country without MLS bottlenecking our first division status.
If you let teams start from the bottom an option to make it to the first division through merit, do you know how many teams would organically develop across the country to become a “Wrexham” USA???
It’s the American dream story waiting to happen….

@usmntonly I’ll translate Craig’s words. ‘I want to be in good graces with Pulisic and USMNT so I’ll be super nice after a shocking performance for the first time ever’
English

ESPN’s Craig Burley has come to the defense of USMNT forward Christian Pulisic and blasts some of the pundits and critics who are making him out to be the scapegoat following the United States' World Cup Round of 16 defeat to Belgium 🎙️🇺🇸
“It seems to me it's almost a personal attack on an individual rather than an analysis of the football that's gone before.”
“It’s people from FOX. It's the same people that when Flo Balogun was told he could play, they were on that network, and they embarrassed the hell out of themselves for about half an hour. It’s embarrassing.”
“They all danced around the fact that it was wrong, and said, this is the greatest decision in the history of U.S. sports, Flo Balogun's going to play. That's how embarrassing these people are. They have no shame.”
“You're criticizing a player for not carrying a team, no further than you yourself never carried a team.”
“Look, do I think he's perfect? No. But I'll tell you one thing about Christian Pulisic, and going back to [Landon] Donovan and one or two others, at least he's had the stomach to go to Europe over a long, long period of time and forge out a pretty good career for himself at Dortmund, at Chelsea, at Milan.”
“And listen, they can analyze games all they want. I don't care. That's their job. But here, I think this is personal. It's a real personal attack on this young man.”
English

@usmntaut Do you think Poch overachieved, underachieved or did about what was expected, given the talent level on the team?
English

@AlexiLalas It’s criminal. Women don’t deserve a dime more than they make & shouldn’t take from the men because they complained about it. USSF and the men caved b/c they didn’t want to be perceived negatively. I’m sure women would do the same if the roles were reversed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
English

Because they negotiated for it and got it.
karlitos Benitos@karlbeni77
@AlexiLalas Why is @USWNT getting half of the prize money?
English

@KYOTO_SSS @StephenChaconas @sinatraswinery @AlexiLalas @dpshow @KevinFrazier Other countries have A LOT more pro clubs per youth soccer player so it isn’t as spread out. Pro clubs will not be able to come close to financing this dream. It would be amazing tho
English

@StephenChaconas @sinatraswinery @AlexiLalas @dpshow @KevinFrazier So why not have teams set up youth academies and stuff so it's not pay to play, literally this is only a American problem
English

"You are part of the problem!"
– @KevinFrazier doesn't hold back on Alexi Lalas and U.S. Soccer 😳
English

@wooden_files @golz_tv Let’s say everything said is true. Is LD wrong about how Christian played this WC, especially last game?
English

@MarkFrommage @golz_tv Landon has zero big club experience while Christian has Dortmund, Chelsea and Milan
Landon was the “golden boy” before Christian showed up and he has been salty ever since

“It’s interesting to see one guy speaking. If we played overseas, he was injured, but then in MLS, he played two days later.” 😳
Former USMNT midfielder Jermaine Jones has come to Christian Pulisic’s defense, and hits out at former players criticizing him.
Jones was speaking on ESPN FC about the fallout in the U.S. following Pulisic’s exit from the Belgium match.
“I played with Christian, and I always said that Christian can be the best player America has had in football, in soccer,” Jones began.
“That's clear. I played with him, I see his quality, and everybody sees his quality.
“But I know too that Christian is not somebody who is, when he's injured, he says straight away, ‘Oh, I'm out.’
“He wants to play if he can play. So I'm not a fan of it when you see people who retired working now on networks or working with their own podcast going against people.
“And that's nothing to do with the game. Because in that game where you lose against Belgium, [Sergiño] Dest made a mistake, Tim [Ream] made a mistake. [Matt] Freese made a mistake.
“But we hear nothing about these three players. It's just Christian.
“He's the face, yes. But in general, the whole team has to be good. And that's why I say, we live in a football world in the landscape in America where if you criticize, especially if you criticize other people, they get angry, they feel like, ‘Oh, you are attacking me personally.’
“That’s why you just attack Christian, because he's right now the biggest face. He's played in Italy, he's played in Chelsea.
“But that has nothing do with football, because if you look at the football side, what he did already since his young age till now, for this country, is a lot.
“I don't understand, because people are attacking him for exactly the same stuff. When they say, ‘Oh, he's going out because of injury, or he's doing this, or he's not coming to the game.’
“I was there where other players did the same. I saw it. So I just listen to it and think it’s interesting to see one guy speaking. If we played overseas, he was injured, but then in MLS, he played two days later.
“So there's different stories on everything, and I think they should just focus on the game.
“Yes, you can criticize if he played bad. But then you have to criticize everybody for this game against Belgium.”

English

@HenryBushnell Or… it’s a sign of growth that so many people are talking about it. Any press is good press
English

@dpshow Back to Alexi’s question, ‘We all would like youth soccer to be free. Who is going to pay for it?’
