In 1930 the Indiana Bell building was rotated 90°. Over a month, the 22-million-pound structure was moved 15 inch/hr. all while 600 employees still worked there. There was no interruption to gas, heat, electricity, water, sewage, or the telephone service they provided. No one inside felt it move.

The animatronic puppets in Small Soldiers (1998) are a marvel, a reminder of when handcrafted practical effects were still front and center, keeping CGI to a minimum. A small, genuinely great movie.

Mr. Fox didn’t record voices in a studio. They recorded in farms, attics, and even the woods for a more natural feel. Clooney and the cast often acted the scenes while recording.
