In American Mythology at the start of the year there was a 5 month festival with a series of celebrations to venerate the minor gods. This festival was called "The Award Season".
Most celebrations took place on the Western Ocean at a place known as "California".

To extend this religion analogy even further. America has a whole pantheon of minor gods in the form of celebrities & influencers. Similar to saints in Catholicism or ancestral spirits in animist religions.
